Deadly Presence

submitted by Matt

I had a rough life growing up and things didn't go exactly as planned. I moved with my grandmother into her house. She had set me up in the basement, but something just didn't seem right. It was so creepy down there. I heard the story that my grandmother's uncle owned the house before her and he killed himself when his wife had died. He covered himself in gas and light a match in a parking lot. Strange things had started happening in that basement. When I would lie in bed I'd get these strange chills in my arms. It was nowhere else but my arms. There was a back room to our basement and I had glanced back there a couple times to see a shadow of some sort, but I thought that it was my imagination. I was much younger then I am now. I was 14 maybe. I had one of these dogs that was electronic. I'm sure you remember them. They barked and all on their own. In the middle of the night I'd be woken up by that dog going off and barking for no reason. Incidents like that, and more such as the time I heard someone whisper my name, have been going on for some time. I decided to take out the batteries, but when I did there was no batteries. This is no joke, but they have been melted because the dog was played with so much, but it wasn't me touching it. I told my grandmother about it and the look on her face was as though she didn't believe me. My aunt Angie was going through some rough times and she came to live with us. Going through her divorce she would go out alot and I'd watch her kids for her. One time she returned home late at night and was chatting on the phone...(getting chills thinking about this)...she said she felt someone in the room with her. She had told me that her son's toys would start going off by themselves at times. That night she heard something and turned around to see a little boy in a striped shirt skipping around and playing a flute. She screamed so loud and dropped the phone. She went to tell my grandmother and this time she believed. Incidents like that have been happening for some time. We know that something is going on in that house. Then I found out that our neighborhood was built over an indian burial ground. So, I'm not sure if the burial ground has something to do with the hauntings or my grandmother's dead uncle, but something is in that house...and won't leave...no joke.
