My Brother's Ghost

submitted by Heather

Hi all! The story I'm about to tell you did not happen to me but my brother. This just happened, the first sighting was on December 4, 2004. I will try to write this in as much detail as I can as my brother related it to me. I would like to point out that my brother lives alone and has a dog and cat that lives with him. My brother's dog likes to bark when someone comes to the door or even if he hears someone outside of the house, which makes him a pretty good guard dog. This particular night was no different; my brother was awoken in the middle of the night to his dog growling at something in his room. Thinking someone had broke in (I would like to quickly add that this has actually happened to him once before, except the people trying to break into his house never was able to because his dog’s bark is so vicious sounding it scared them away, he lives in a bad part of the city), so he quickly leaped out of his bed and came face to face with a guy. He described him as having spiky black hair, with a bony looking face and he was very skinny. He was wearing a black leather jacket with black pants. He said that they stared at each other for about 15 seconds and he was so surprised that someone was in his room that he didn't speak to him, when he finally snapped to reality and was about to ask him what the hell he was doing in his room he says the guy just disappeared right before his eyes. My brother was so shocked that he laid back down in his bed and while lying there he had closed his eyes and then opened them and felt like he must have dreamed it, but he kept having this feeling that it had been real and something really did happen so he did get up to investigate his house to see if anyone was in his house, just in case. He was up for about half an hour and decided that he was safe and went back to bed. In the morning, Saturday morning, he decided it must have been a dream, except he couldn't shake his uneasy feeling. When Saturday night came he couldn't shake the feeling that he might see this guy again. He went to sleep that night and sure enough he woke to his dog barking again. This time his dog was in the bed with him and was pressed up against my brother's body. My brother looked up and sure enough it was the same guy but this time he was walking into my brother's doorway to his bedroom and disappeared when he got to the doorway. Thinking again that someone was somehow getting into his house he got up to investigate but found nothing and his front door was still locked, there was no sign that someone broke into his house, so he went back to bed. I would also like to point out that all the sightings have been in my brother's bedroom and not anywhere else in the house and he didn't hear the guy run away when he disappeared from the doorway. The next day, Sunday, my brother had an uneasy feeling all day. Luckily he went over to his girlfriend's house for supper, but he said that around 8:30 p.m. he got this uneasy feeling and knew he had to get home, which surprised his girlfriend because usually he doesn't go home until her curfew which is 9:30 (she still goes to high school, therefore the reason he has to go home then), but he felt he needed to go so he called a cab and went home. When they arrived, he could hear his dog barking furiously inside the house, the taxi cab driver even commented on how loud my brother’s dog was barking, so my brother hurried to the door and got inside where he found his dog running around the house, but not like a normal run a dog would do, he said that his dog was kind of trotting and running at the same time, like he was nervous. My brother said that his dog didn't notice him at first and when he did notice my brother he leaped right up to his chest and in his arms and started licking his face and wagging his tail. My brother's dog is a fairly good-sized dog and doesn't normally leap into by brother's arms that way. My brother sensed that something was up and noticed that his dog wouldn't go near my brother's bedroom, so he went to put his coat away and sure enough when he went into his room he saw the guy with his back to my brother standing under my brother's window staring at my brother's blinds on the window. Thinking again that someone had broken in he planned to leap at him, he had learned in Air Cadets that if you were to attack an enemy, element of surprise is the best way to do it, so he made a noise and was going to run and hit the guy when he turned around but he said that the guy never turned around but started to fade away. He said he'd never seen anyone fade away before and it took the apparition about 15 seconds to completely disappear and he said that he could start to see through him until he fully disappeared. This really spooked him because he now knows that it's something supernatural that's there in his house. He was so spooked that he called a couple of our church representatives who blessed his house and luckily nothing else happened Sunday night. He told me he'll keep me posted though and I'll keep you guys posted. Just an after note, he's never had this guy come and see him before and he's been living in his house for about 4 months now and actually lived in the basement of the house for about 4 or 5 months and has never experienced anything like this before. Thank you for reading my story.
